Houston Contemporary Workshop
June 15th-21st, 2026 (15+)

The Institute of Contemporary Dance Houston presents the Houston Contemporary Dance Company in a six day workshop geared toward the pre-professional and professional level dancers (Ages 15+) that are interested in a full choreographic experience while learning more about Houston Contemporary Dance Company.  This workshop will consist of two technique classes a day and then the afternoon working on creating a new choreographic work from our 2 Guest Artists ( to be announced). Attendees conclude in a special performance on Sunday, June 21st, 2026 at the Institute of Contemporary Dance. Acceptance into the workshop is by audition only with limited in studio spots. If you cannot audition in person or virtually, please submit a video audition here.

ICD SUMMER INTENSIVES (11+/AUDITION REQUIRED)

Institute Intensives for movers 11+. Auditions are required and the deadline to sign up is June 15th, 2026 for all four intensives. Discount for Institute Members and for movers that are participating in all four weeks!

ICD Contemporary  Intensive  (June 22-26th, 2026)- NEW! Introducing our brand new Contemporary Intensive! This five day intensive will allow you to dive deep into your contemporary style and technique. Getting to work with one amazing guest instructor alongside the ICD staff and local Houston instructors. In addition to daily contemporary classes, the week will also include classes in ballet, contemporary, contemporary ballet, contemporary partnering, hip hop, ballroom and more. Friday will conclude in an informal open showing of what you have learned all week!

ICD Classical Intensive (July 6-10th, 2026) - NEW! Introducing our brand new Classical Intensive! This five day intensive will expose you to classical techniques in ballet, modern and jazz! This intensive will be jam packed with ICD staff and local Houston Instructors. Friday will conclude in an informal open showing of what you have learned all week!

ICD Performance Intensive (July 13-17th, 2026)- NEW! Introducing our brand new Performance Intensive! This five day intensive will focus on your performance in many styles! You will get to learn from one guest instructor and many ICD Staff and local Houston instructors. The week will include classes focusing on performance such as Commercial Jazz, Heels, Dance Theatre, Musical Theatre, Acting, Pantomime and more! Friday will conclude in an informal open showing of what you have learned all week!

ICD Contemporary  Intensive  (July 20-24th, 2026)- NEW! Introducing our brand new Contemporary Intensive! This five day intensive will allow you to dive deep into your contemporary style and technique. Getting to work with one amazing guest instructor alongside the ICD staff and local Houston instructors. In addition to daily contemporary classes, the week will also include classes in ballet, contemporary, contemporary ballet, contemporary partnering, hip hop, ballroom and more. Friday will conclude in an informal open showing of what you have learned all week!
