2026 SUMMER INFORMATION


We are excited to announce our 2026 Summer offerings at the Institute of Contemporary Dance. Auditions are required for all Intensives and the HC2 2026-2027 Season. Pre-registration is recommended but not required for in person auditions. If you can not make any of the scheduled auditions, please see below for video auditions requirements. Only one audition is required. Private Auditions are available upon request and availability by emailing: studiodirector@icdhouston.com

PLEASE NOTE: If you have auditioned and have been accepted to our Houston Contemporary Workshop or FOCUS intensives in 2024 or 2025 you do not need to audition. Please fill out the audition registration form below and we will be in touch with registration information.

To be considered for the 2026-2027 HC2 Season follow the Audition information below for our Summer Intensives. We combine these auditions so you can be considered for all intensives and the HC2s at the same time. For questions please email,  HC2 Director, Mia Angelini at: hc2@icdhouston.com

Audition Schedule:

9-9:30AM Registration
9:30-10:30AM Ballet Class
10:30-11:15PM Jazz Technique 
11:15-12PM Contemporary Combination
12-12:30PM Parent Meeting (Optional)

Audition Dress Code:

We encourage movers to follow the gender they identify with. Please follow dress codes accordingly. Gender identity can include an expression of female identified, male identified, trans, non-binary, queer. Any questions please let us know.

  • (Female Identified) Any color leotard with pink/ flesh tone footed tights and matching ballet shoes. Skirts are allowed to be worn for ballet and leggings or shorts are allowed to be worn for Jazz/contemporary. No baggy clothing. Jazz shoes are encouraged but not required. Hair must be pulled back in a bun or a ponytail if it’s long enough. 

  • (Male Identified) Tight fitting pants or tights and a tight fitting T-shirt or tank top. Hair must be pulled back if it’s long enough. Ballet shoes are required and Jazz shoes are encouraged but not required.  No baggy clothing.

2026 VIDEO Audition REQUIREMENTS

Video Audition Requirements

For prospective 2026 Summer Intensive students who cannot audition in Houston or for those unable to make a live audition date, a video audition is accepted until May 31st, 2026. The video needs to be in a dance studio or large space and auditioners need to be wearing clothes that allow instructors to see clean lines and your facility. The video should include the following items for each Intensive.

Houston Contemporary Dance Company Workshop video requirements: 
1. Dancers Name and Age
2. Any 2 Ballet barre exercises (both sides)
3. Any 2 Ballet exercises center (both sides)
4. 1 min solo with floorwork, pirouettes, leaps/jumps and
movement that shows clear technique within modern and contemporary. 

ICD Contemporary, Performance & Classical Intensives video requirements:
1. Dancers Name and Age
2. 1-2  min solo with floorwork, pirouettes, leaps/jumps and
movement that shows clear technique.

Please pay the $35 video audition fee below,  fill out this form and submit a video audition by posting to a platform such as YouTube or Vimeo. Please email the link to info@icdhouston.com. Your video will not be reviewed until the audition fee is paid. Acceptance will be given 3-4 weeks after submitting and payment goes through.
